White Water Canoe Coach

Coaching Canoeing in Moderate Water

What is it?

The British Canoeing Awarding Body White Water Canoe Coach Award is ideal for those looking to develop groups in a moderate water environment.

This coaching award is for open canoes.

Where is it?

The sheltered water coach environment is white water up to grade 2 (3).

Who's it for?

Perfect for people operating in clubs and centres that need to teach novice and intermediate paddlers to a deeper level than an introductory session. The award will equip you to develop paddlers in the long term.

Training

Open Course

Our White Water Canoe Coach Training courses take place from our loctaion in Killin, from there we meet in the morning and work start to form a plan based on the weather and the groups needs and then head off to the best locations, from our base we have lots of fantastic venues to let you really explore and learn the tools you'll need to operate as a leader.

Group Courses

As well as offering open courses from our base, we're also happy to travel to your venue for groups and work with you there. All that differs is the locations we still explore and learn the tools your team will need to operate as leaders.

The Paddlesport Touring Leader is designed to get you out leading paddlers on large windy lochs and grade 1(2) rivers, so we'll be based in the Trossachs for this formal British Canoeing Awarding Body training course.

We'll examine everything from leadership philosophy and methodology to venue selection and risk management and the other skills you need to lead a mixed fleet of up to six boats from your chosen craft. Regarding equipment, we can help you outfit yourself with specialist bits, but you will need your paddling clothing.

The Trossachs' focus on the journey lends itself to this award, perfect for those working in clubs, centres, and organisations. It also works well with a Paddlesport Instructor Award to increase your remit and lead fun journeys.

Although we are mainly based in the Trossachs, get in touch if you have a venue you'd like to use or would like a bespoke programme. We can tailor the course to your needs.
