Paddlesports Touring Leader
Multi craft Leadership in the moderate water environment.
What is it?
The British Canoeing Awarding Body, Paddlesports Touring Leader Award, is the perfect award for those wishing to lead groups in a moderate water environment.
It was initially written to be a multi-craft award, allowing you as a leader to lead canoes, kayaks and paddleboards from whichever craft you are most comfortable in. It is now possible to be assessed on only one craft type, rather than always being multi-craft.
Where is it?
The touring leader environment is inland waters up to 500 meters offshore in Force 4 winds and on Grade 1 rivers, which includes short and occasional Grade 2.
Who's it for?
Perfect for people operating in clubs and centres that lead novice paddlers on their first longer journeys in more challenging environments.
