What is it?
The PaddleSafer Award is ideal for those who wish to learn how to look after themselves in a sheltered water environment.
The course is all about you learning how to look after yourself and your paddling pal in your chosen craft.
Where is it?
The paddlesafer award environment is inland waters up to 200 meters offshore in Force 3 winds.
Who's it for?
Anyone and everyone who wants to be safer on the water.
This course is all about giving all paddlers a basic level of knowledge about being safe while afloat.
We'll be looking at everything from planning a safe trip to what to carry and how to get help if it goes wrong.
We'll spend some time in the water, looking at what to do if we have an out-of-boat experience.

The philosophy of the British Canoeing Awarding Body is that safety courses are opportunities to learn without the worry of being "assessed".
Depending on what you go on to do in the future, you may be assessed on the skills you gain in this course during a leadership or coaching award, but during the course, we'll be in learning mode.
